Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how OneFish Studios handles information when you use WaterWise. We designed the app to work without an account and to keep its core records on your device.
Information Stored by the App
WaterWise may store the following information locally to provide hydration tracking, goals, history, insights, achievements, preferences, and reminder features:
- Hydration entries, amounts, dates, and times
- Daily goals and goal history
- Preferred units and quick-add amounts
- Streaks, achievements, and celebrated dates
- Reminder windows, intervals, and notification preferences
- Haptics, week-start, onboarding, and other app settings
Information Collected by OneFish Studios
OneFish Studios does not currently operate a backend that receives the app's core records. If you contact support, we receive the information you choose to send, such as your email address, message, screenshots, and troubleshooting details.
Local Storage
Core app records are stored locally on your device. They are not automatically synced to a OneFish Studios account or cloud service. Device backups managed by your operating system may include app data according to your device and platform settings.
Notifications
WaterWise can schedule hydration reminders locally on your device. Notification permission is requested only when you enable reminders. Reminder timing may adapt to your recent drinks and progress, and reminders stop for the day after you reach your goal. You can disable reminders in WaterWise or in your device settings. Reminder content may be visible on your lock screen according to your device settings.
Third-Party Services
The app is built with Expo and React Native and uses operating-system and distribution-platform services. Apple, Google, Expo, and device operating systems may independently process technical or distribution information under their own policies. The current app does not include advertising, payment SDKs, authentication, third-party analytics, or third-party crash reporting in the audited project dependencies.
Data Retention and Deletion
Locally stored information remains on your device until you delete it through available clear-data controls, delete individual records, or uninstall the app. Support communications may be retained only as long as reasonably needed to respond, keep appropriate records, and meet legal obligations.
Children's Privacy
WaterWise is not directed to children under 13. OneFish Studios does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through the app. If you believe a child sent personal information to us, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.
Security
We use reasonable measures appropriate to the app's current local-first design. No storage system, device, or transmission method can be guaranteed completely secure. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your device and its backups.
International Users
If you contact OneFish Studios from outside the United States, the information in your support request may be processed in the United States. Local privacy rights may vary by location. You may contact us to ask about access, correction, or deletion of information you sent directly to us.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as the app changes. We will revise the effective date when we do. This policy will be updated before analytics, crash reporting, cloud backup, subscriptions, advertising, authentication, or other external services are introduced into a production release.
